Description: “Ancient Sea” is a deeply saturated blue, shifting between inky navy and luminous cobalt. The glaze moves unpredictably across each tile; pooling, thinning, and revealing subtle undertones, creating a surface that feels layered and alive.
In the 2” x 6” format, that variation becomes more expressive. Edges soften, glaze thickens unevenly, and the clay body occasionally peeks through at the perimeter. Installed, it reads as both structured and fluid; reminiscent of water, depth, and light.

Original Application: Sourced for the flooring of the outdoor dining area.
Notes: Variation is inherent to zellige. Differences in tone, thickness, and surface texture should be expected and embraced as part of the material’s character. Irregular edges and slight dimensional variation will influence grout spacing and layout.
